The compact ELODE+NVD combination system offers an efficient, automated 24-hour treatment process that reduces the moisture content of these difficult-to-dewater organic sludges from as low as 60% to as low as 10%, with low operating (OPEX) and capital expenses (CAPEX).
Starting with primary concentration, the ELODE+NVD combination system can handle various physical dewatering processes, including belt presses, centrifuges, screw presses, and filter presses, to initially reduce sludge moisture content to approximately 80%. The most challenging dewatering and drying phase, known as the Glue Zone (80%-60% moisture range), is then addressed by the ELODE system.
With ELODE, the moisture content can be reduced below 60% within just 1 minute and 30 seconds, achieving over 50% reduction in sludge weight. The highest capacity model, EODS-3000, can process 30 tons per day at 80% moisture content, producing only 6.67 tons of cake at 10% moisture content while releasing 23.3 tons of filtrate (water).
As the dewatered sludge cake enters ELODE, it is automatically distributed through the Sludge Feeding Device (SFD), optimizing the sludge’s thickness, width, and belt speed based on its properties.
The 3-phase high-frequency DC moves the sludge's cellular water and capillary water across cell membranes, then breaks down the cell structure, releasing free water within 1 minute and 30 seconds. During this process, most E. coli bacteria are eliminated, producing high-quality cake.
In summary, although the system’s primary power source is AC, converting it to 3-phase phase-controlled DC allows for an energy-efficient, high-frequency process that transfers electrons to separate sludge components in the shortest time, achieving unprecedented efficiency.
The ELODE system dewaters and dries water at an industry-leading 0.25–0.35 kWh per liter. This innovative process eliminates the need for secondary dust or chemical additives, effectively reducing the moisture content to below 60% in the challenging Glue Zone.
The ELODE+NVD process provides a high-efficiency drying solution without secondary contamination, reducing carbon emissions by over 70%. For instance, if heavily contaminated sludge with 80% moisture were incinerated without pre-treatment, it would generate 53 kg of CO₂ per ton (see report for details). For 30 tons of sludge, this would result in 1,590 kg of CO₂. By contrast, the ELODE+NVD process limits CO₂ emissions to just 200kg, reducing emissions by over 80%.
The ELODE+NVD combination system provides maximum sludge treatment efficiency with the world’s lowest energy requirements, drastically lowering current sludge treatment costs. This system is highly competitive and allows users to recoup their initial investment quickly, providing substantial long-term benefits. Additionally, ELODE+NVD can be operated via a smartphone app with 24-hour monitoring capability.

Compared to conventional thermal dryers like belt dryers, drum dryers, fluid bed dryers, film dryers, rotary kiln dryers, and solar dryers, the ELODE+NVD system requires significantly lower OPEX and CAPEX. While thermal dryers demand high investment and operational costs, the ELODE+NVD process achieves the
For customers who already own or manufacture traditional dryers, incorporating ELODE as a pre-stage dewatering unit (between primary dewatering and drying stages) significantly improves throughput, reduces energy consumption, and enhances drying rates. This process, which involves primary dewatering, secondary ELODE dewatering, and optional built-in NVD, can achieve unprecedentedly low OPEX and CAPEX.
