Our Story: A Fateful Partnership

In 1998, Antonio Kim and SonSeIn came together in a moment of destiny, driven by a shared vision to revolutionize sludge treatment technology. 

Antonio Kim brought extensive expertise in sludge properties, while SonSeInn was an inventor who first applied electro-osmosis technology to sludge.

Early Success and Global Reach

Starting with Hyundai Motor Group in Korea, ELODE quickly gained a solid reputation, serving industry leaders like Samsung Electronics, AmorePacific, LG Chem, and Kolon Industries. ELODE also extended its reach to markets in the USA, Austria, UK, Poland, and Hungary, with installations at over 36 sites globally by 2014. Their collaboration bore fruit after three years of investment, effort, and dedication. In 2001, they introduced the world’s first ELODE (Electro-Osmosis Dewatering Equipment)— a pioneering solution in sludge treatment.


Despite these achievements, the first-generation ELODE had challenges, such as corrosion due to sludge gases and high conductivity, as well as high energy consumption. This spurred further innovation and enhancement.

Continuous R&D and Technological Advancements

To address these challenges, the team invested over USD 2 million in R&D. By 2014, they developed the ELODE+NVD Combination System, incorporating advanced phase-controlled electro-osmosis, electrophoresis, and electro-permeation technology. This system reduced energy consumption to 0.45 kWh per liter while achieving 90% dry solids (DS)—setting a new industry benchmark.


Though there was demand for the upgraded ELODE+NVD system, the team focused on rigorous testing in challenging environments. Their perseverance led to the successful commercialization of the EODS-3000 and NVD-3000, capable of 24/7 operation in high-conductivity and high-organic sludge treatment settings with a remarkable efficiency above 80%.
